I am excited to volunteer my time for this event because having had my own struggles with mental health when I was younger, I understand how important it is to reduce the stigma around suicide so that more people feel able to talk openly. I am a keen advocate for good mental health and as well as supporting with my project management skills I will be holding the event at the Plantation Gardens for people who have been bereaved by suicide.

I was looking for a volunteering opportunity and, after learning how common yet often hidden suicide is, I recognised the significance of the Baton of Hope’s aim to break down the stigma surrounding it. This inspired me to get involved, and with my background in administration, I’ll use my organisational skills to support this meaningful cause.
